5 – Enable IMAP TCP/IP port. To do so, alter the TCP/IP port value status to “Enabled” in the (IMAP) Mail (By default, the clients of IMAP get linked to TCP/IP port number 143 on the IBM Domino server).

6 – Now, Save, and Exit.

Fourth Step – Synchronize with IMAP Connector

You can use the IMAP Connector to connect IBM Lotus Notes emails to Office 365 cloud. Once you complete all the four steps, exporting Lotus Notes to Office 365 environment becomes possible. However, this technique including IMAP Connector is not without its restrictions.

Limitations of IMAP Based Migration

IMAP Connector has the following Limitations:

  • If the IBM Lotus Notes clients are in the disable states, the connector will not permit IMAP Connection.
  • If the Notes has proxy and firewall, then it will not connect with the internet.
  • IMAP Connector move only 1 GB size emails
  • IMAP Connector limit to move of calendar
  • Moving with the IMAP protocol will migrate only online data to Microsoft Office 365.
  • IMAP Connector involves multiple filters that are complex and costly.

Method 3: Migrate Lotus Notes to Office 365 using Lotus Notes Converter Tool
